NTA. Where did the 5-year-old learn what a flower girl is, and how did she get the idea that she would be asked to be one? It seems odd that she would come to that conclusion all on her own, at her age, AND that she would get so excited and emotional about it - unless an adult put the idea in her head. I think there's more going on here that you're not aware of, OP.

NTA...The girl's parents should have navigated the situation before this. Dealing with disappointments is part of childhood. If your fiancé thought you should have considered the situation beforehand, then why didn't he?
