Anyone go from nothing to ‘fit’?

I’ve struggled with fitness all my life. I was never in any way athletic as a kid. Never learned how to jump rope, cartwheel or any basic thing every other kid could do. Usually ditched PE because I was ashamed at how much I sucked at anything physical and I didn’t want people to laugh at me. I’ve never done any sport pretty much.

Now I’m in my late 20s, I’ve tried getting fitter many times and here’s the 100th. I’ve managed to force myself into walking at least an hour a day 5 days a week but beyond that I’ve got nothing.

My issue is I feel like I never see results. I probably quit to easy though, to be fair. I try running while I walk but even if I PUSH myself I can only do 1min before I’m about to pass out from lack of air. Can’t do a pushup beyond maybe hip height or a little lower, not even knee pushups. I’ve tried jumping rope but can’t really do much, basically just very slow for a minute at most before I trip up.

Now I’ve basically cut everything down and am just trying to focus on the walking/running. C25K didn’t work for me I couldn’t get beyond 1min running for a few weeks.

I feel like if I can see improvement in running I’ll believe that I can do this and I can add other stuff back in.

Did anyone else go from NOTHING to feeling fit? How did you do it? How long did it take you? Any tips? Also I don’t have access to any equipment and I can’t afford a gym membership which I also feel might be affecting me.
