Please don’t bite my head off

I’ve been watching this group for a while now and I’m super impressed by some of the conversations here. You all have inspired me to attempt writing. I have no idea where to start nor have I truly understood the scientific theory behind writing a proper storyline. My education growing up was not the best so my english and grammar skills have always suffered. My education and degree are in STEM. My daughter is interested in creating minecraft roleplays and they are heavily story based. My question to everyone is what would be the fastest way (program, doc, video, advice) that I can study to begin understanding the theory of writing a proper storyline?
