Glinda had a point.

Both Glinda and Elphaba had an AMAZING difference in point of views for how things should be handled near the end in "Defying Gravity" and both were right, but I've been seeing a lot of people hating on Glinda for her decision and calling her fake so I thought I would add my thoughts.

Glinda emphasizes the value of popularity as a characteristic that serves "the cause of all good" because popularity enables influence. Her point is that when people admire and follow someone, that individual has a unique platform to inspire, lead, and effect change.

Being popular means that more people pay attention to what you say and do. Glinda recognizes that popularity can amplify her voice, allowing her to reach a broader audience and potentially rally support for noble causes. This is why in "Defying Gravity", she's worried about Elphaba hurting her cause by being impulsive.

Glinda even mentions how most people in power don't really have brains or knowledge (don't make her laugh) and that it's because they were popular that their causes worked, albeit be good or bad.

While Glinda’s perspective might initially come off as superficial, her insight into the power of influence highlights how leveraging popularity can have substantive impacts when directed toward altruistic goals.

Again, these are my opinions, let me know what you guys think!
