Not an Uber driver, but have a question relating to a post I saw here

I saw in someone’s post earlier that they pay something like 60% of the fare to Uber. Is this true? That’s absolutely fucking nuts. A talent agent would only take 10-15%, a real estate agent takes 2%, a broker sites sometimes take less than 1%. I understand that Uber has to make money, but sixty fucking percent? That’s absurd. You take all the risk, you do all the work, all uber does is set up the ride. Uber is your talent agent, and your talent agent is fucking screwing you. How is this tolerable? I’d be fucking livid if they tried to take 60% of my earnings.
