My Theory
I have limited context, as I have only read/been focusing on the Fenn chapter. But here are (some) of my connections/thoughts
1) 1 box per US region (west, southwest, Midwest, southeast, northeast) 2) main/big treasure at an 'X', 4 other boxes at each corner 3) Fenn Chapter - I think Montana...2 clusters look potentially promising - near Garden of One Thousand Buddhas, 1 cluster north, 1 cluster south. 4) Jon mentioned several occupations - racecar driver, mountain climber, monk, paleontologist (Lost Creek Raceway, Alex Lowe Peak, Garden of One Thousand Buddhas, unsure of paleontologist fit that is within the Rocky Mountains) 5) Contrast of Jon's poem, word play, potential opposites 6) Mentioned Japan several times (Kalispell) 7) Tairona pendant (Columbia Falls)
Hoping this can be useful to someone, as I'm a 25 hour drive to where I think it might be, and likely won't be able to plan that trip until May/June.
Here's a dummy map I was just messing around with.
