Thoughts on my 8 month trip to SE Asia
Alright so I’ve mapped out a super rough route of my trip to SE Asia which I’ll be starting next month on October 11. For reference only thing I’ve booked is my flight to Indonesia and flight to chiang mai on November 1st. I was actually just going to start in chiang mai but every flight I looked at had me going thru Bali and was same price to put the flight Bali to chiang mai 3 weeks later so thought why not I’ll start and chill in Indo (gili islands) for a few weeks before rain season starts. Mainly I’m just trying to map it out roughly time wise avoiding really bad weather times in certain areas(monsoon seasons, burning season, etc). This is what I came up with and wanted to get your guys thoughts as well as if anyone had suggestions on various places to go and weather in places at the rough time I’m thinking I’ll be in that area. But yea none of what I wrote in for exact days is set in stone at all I just go with the flow as it’s obviously a longer trip but I wanted to know my rough direction and time is limited to how long I can stay in certain countries as well with the visas. I was thinking this as a rough guideline/direction route. Super tempted to try and go Malaysian Borneo before Philippines but tours there seem pretty expensive so idk if anyone has experience with that? I’m more of a nature traveler and want to see culture and go on hikes, snorkel, dive, relax and not spend too much time in the big cities. I haven’t really mapped out too much of my second leg of Indonesia yet I just know I’d like to do Lombok, Komodo and Sumatra for sure.
