Top 3 vote getters:
- Jonas Valančiūnas (171)
- Terence Ross (124)
- Corey Joseph (87)
Lots of fan favorites got a lot of love for the honor of being okay from start to finish. In addition to the trio above, Mo Peterson, José Calderón and Amir Johnson got a good amount of mentions/upvotes; Anthony Parker came very close to stealing 3rd place from CoJo.
Started Okay, Ended Bad
This one is one of the least clear ones to give an answer for because most Raptors players who start off okay tended to not last long enough to have what constitutes a bad "ending". Rudy Gay might be worth consideration given how much of a shock the initial trade was but he didn't even crack 80 games as a Raptor and the team famously improved after they got rid of him as the second part of a trade tree (The Calderón trade tree) that's still going on to this day. Maybe Gary Trent Jr. (Who ironically is part of that same trade tree)? He had a brief glimmer of something more but arguably regressed after the 21/22 season. Hedo was never any good for Toronto but fans definitely soured on him quickly despite the initial optimism from the sign and trade.
Does DeMar count? He had an okay rookie season, soared high with the Raptors with their first ever Conference Finals appearance and multiple appearances but the trade that would ultimately land Toronto their first NBA championship...well, we all know the story and where DeMar was when the news broke for him.
