How many of you treat your toddlers like adults?

My husband and I have such different parenting styles. He treats her more like a 30 something adult and speaks to her like she has a full vocabulary. But she, our toddler, can't even say her name or the alphabet yet. I have to constantly remind him of this and it's super frustrating to me. He also complains to me that she prefers me, mom. But when I point out how he treats her to me, he becomes quiet. I am supportive of her and constantly praise her and tell her how amazing she is. I think I needed to vent but am wondering if any you parents counter similar problems with their spouses/partners.
