We spent 7 hours TRYING to get our toddler to sleep yesterday

We spent 2 hours getting him to nap and then 5 hours getting him to sleep at night. He finally fell asleep at freakin 1am after giving in and turning on the tv so he’d stop hysterically crying.

This is a follow up to my previous post https://www.reddit.com/r/toddlers/s/f0tKQzrUGD

I think we’re in a 2 year sleep regression and the universe decided to even the score since our baby was such a perfect sleeper until recently. I hope and pray this doesn’t last much longer because this really affects everyone’s days and schedules.

We tried the cry it out method and he hysterically cried so much he threw up in his bed. Up until that point we spend hours comforting him, reading books, rocking him, singing to him, giving him snacks. The more time goes on the more overtired he gets and the more hysterical the cries get. The ONLY thing that can get him to calm down is TV. I KNOW screen time is contrary to all advice but after 3-4hours Screen time is better than Scream Time.
