Need advice: first haircut

My daughter was born with 2” long hair. Now, at 2.5, her hair goes down to her butt. My husband wouldn’t let me cut it until now, but now my daughter is terrified of the idea. I have cut my own hair in front of her, tried to make it exciting, but she’s having none of it. Any time I bring it up it’s met with a “no! I want my hair LONG!”

Any advice?
