Bartender added a $1 tip when I did not tip
Went to a bar and waited 45 minutes for a drink, as I watched other people who arrived after my friend and I get their drinks before us. We finally got the bartenders attention and asked if we could get a drink the bartender said yes and then proceeded to ignore us. This man noticed and when the bartender asked for his order, he pointed to us and said “they were here first.” The bartender came up to us and said “Just so you all know we do not serve in the middle of the bar, there are 2 bartenders and we are on the ends of the bar. We don’t serve in the middle.” We said ok, but were thinking you could have told us that 45 minutes ago, or had a sign that said that. The bar is about 12 feet btw, and she served someone shoulder to shoulder of us. Anyways, She gave us our drinks, and we did not tip. (I always tip, and don’t think I have ever not left someone a tip prior to this, but her attitude and the wait did not warrant a tip from me. I had actually got a drink with the other bartender first, and left her $2 on a $6 drink). As we were walking away, she saw that we both did not leave a tip and yelled, “don’t come back to the bar with that bullshit.” We did not say anything back, as I figured this bartender might have wanted a reaction from us, and it was my friends birthday and I did not want to ruin the vibe by potentially getting kicked out for reacting.
Fast forward 1 day later, I just noticed there was a $1 tip added, and my friend said they added a $1 tip to her card as well. This is a very small amount, that normally would not bother me. But since she was so rude, I disputed the charge with my bank. I am thinking about calling the bar and letting them know the bartender is committing fraud, but not sure if it is worth potentially getting her fired over $1. (Technically $2, since she overcharged my friend as well).
What would you all do in this situation?
