Concerned mother

All this started with my 14 year old son probably around the beginning of the school year, maybe even before then. He was having stomach issues but when he complained there was no consistency so I just assumed he was eating badly at school. Fast forward to now- he’s had multiple other symptoms including weight loss, a stomach ulcer, extreme anxiety, mood swings, soreness around his Adam’s Apple, and problems falling asleep (the anxiety is more noticeable before bed). He was so nervous that I took him to the ER and had his stomach scanned which found nothing but suspect ulcer due to bloody stools. Got ER follow up but waiting for a week we ended back up in the ER for his stomach pain (same results- normal blood normal scan) Did the f/u in the clinic and tested his thyroid- a whopping 7.790 TSH but T4 is normal. Crickets from the clinic for a week and a half. Ended up back in the ER yesterday because he was having swallowing difficulty and tightness in his throat. He says the pain is around his Adam’s Apple… his TSH was in the range of a 6 (I don’t get to see results in the ER I guess). They said CT of the neck was normal and no swelling or anything of the thyroid. Diagnosis- hypothyroid. I’m just at a loss. I don’t know what to do to help him, his anxiety is overwhelming (when he has NEVER had anxiety before- always been a “go with the flow” type) esp at night. And doctors around us seem to think that urgency isn’t needed in his situation and he is just suffering! Then I research and keep coming across Hashimoto’s disease and I keep freaking out now too. He’s only 14- how could all this happen?
