Rapid growing large thyroid mass?
My 52 yo husband had a physical last November, exam normal. Had an appointment in July where he was found to have a large mass. The ultrasound appointment was booked for a month out. Finally had that done and The results read:
Left mid/inferior 7.1 x 6.1 x 4.1 cm nodule Predominantly solid, partially hypoechoic, wider than tall with smooth margins and possible macrocalcification. TR 4 nodule.
Has anyone ever seen a mass grow that fast in 9 months? And not be worst case scenario?
I can't believe he's not having more trouble swallowing. FNA is scheduled for next week. I feel like the rapid growth warranted a faster biopsy than 3 weeks from when we got the ultrasound result. His thyroid labs are all normal. I'm pretty sure this is worst case scenario, but I'm also known to prepare for the worst, so this might be me doing exactly that. 🤷♀️
