What if Tony survived the finale?

I should preface this by saying that on some level, what actually happened in the finale (whether Tony lived or died) is not important. The end signifies that Tony's finished, the DiMeo crime family is at an all time low with most of the leadership being dead or comatose (Sil), and Tony's quest to become a better person is now also dead since he killed Christopher and no longer goes to therapy. Tony's story is finished. But, let's assume its not.

Say Tony lives, what happens next? Obviously Tony (and most of the surviving capos and soldiers as well) would be in deep shit due to Carlo's testimony, would Tony face the heat or lamb it? What would happen to the rest of the family (especially if Tony was on the run and couldn't contact them)? And what about New York? People like to assume that they would've just "absorbed" New Jersey, but they've gone through like four bosses in the span of less than two years, so they're also at an all time low.
