Why quit now?

2 cents here. I read some quotes from the South Park dudes explaining why they didn't want to create a new season in 2024, while Trump was still a candidate. Parker said something like, "we already made all the Trump jokes we could think of". The situation simply is not funny anymore. It's no longer some absurd blip in history. I wonder if this was a factor for NM deciding to leave TAFS at this point. What is there left to say at this point on a funny talk show, week to week, besides ignoring a legitimately grim reality. Also, gay, small dick, etc, etc. There's just not a lot of oxygen left to keep fueling a weekly cast for their style of humor.
