Heads up! Per kWh utility rates just increased across the entire state of Texas except Lubbock

On September 1, per kWh utility rates increased across all deregulated areas of Texas except for Lubbock. This could impact your electric bills pretty significantly.

Oncor region (Dallas, Fort Worth): Rates increased from $0.046384 per kWh to $0.051893 per kWh.

CenterPoint region (Houston): Rates increased from $0.038494 per kWh to $0.0535 per kWh. Ouch! They are definitely raising rates to recover some summer damages.

AEP Central region (Corpus Christi): Rates increased from $0.049027 per kWh to $0.058156 per kWh.

AEP North region (Abilene, San Angelo): Rates increased from $0.045254 per kWh to $0.054758 per kWh.

Texas New-Mexico Power region (League City, Glen Rose): Rates increased from $0.052992 per kWh to $0.062927 per kWh.

Remember, these charges go to your utility company (the org that manages and maintains infrastructure like power lines and poles), not your electricity provider (billing company).
