What are the signs of a dying SSD?

Around one week ago I tried playing a game I had on my secondary SSD, and noticed everything loading in extremely slowly, and today it took multiple minutes for it to launch a single program. So I ended up trying to change the cables connected to it today, which lead to the programs on the SSD to not work at all, and when trying to open folders through the file Explorer, my pc just freezes. I assume I can make the assumption that it has died, but do ssds tend to make their first sign of not working well to dying within just a week? Is it no use to have it connected in my pc anymore? My secondary SSD was a toshiba tr200
