Windows 11 networking issues

Trying to access my desktop across the network and it's insisting that I enter network credentials. I've enabled file sharing and disabled password protected sharing, yet every time I try to access the pc it asks for login credentials. Actually, I usually just use an app on my phone to access a shared folder on my pc across WiFi but since installing a fresh copy of Windows 11 I haven't been able to do it. The app sees the computer on the network but nothing happens when I click on it. So I tried accessing it via my laptop and that's when I saw it's asking for a login.

I don't want to have to log in to copy files across the network and my preferred app on my phone apparently doesn't have the feature anyway. Since I've already disabled password protected sharing, have enabled the public folders for all the good it did and enabled general file and printer sharing, I don't know what else Windows wants of me. Why can't I make visible and accessible a shared folder across the home network?
