Bad design or just tattoo shock?

I recently got this tattoo and I had a messy Sketchy style vibe in my mind. Before getting the tattoo, it seemed like a really good idea to get a big piece on my forearm but now I am not sure. I want to build a sleeve and not sure how this could fit into that, cuz I like those small- medium sized patchwork kind of sleeve.

Is the design bad or am i just in tattoo shock because of how big the tattoo is? This is my first big tattoo fyi, before this I had only 2 very small tattoos

Also, if yoy guys have any ideas of how i could turn it into a sleeve, plz let me know .
