N-able EDR: MSP Marketing Ploy?
Our MSP told our organization that N-able is decommissioning traditional AV and that we would need to upgrade to their new SentinelOne EDR, (Endpoint Detection and Response), software for security protections. This change will incur an additional cost of $2.50/seat for our moderately sized organization. They noted that N-able does not have a strict timeline on this changeover, but expect that we will need to transition before the end of 2024. Additionally, the termination of traditional AV support will not reduce our bill as it is a bundled N-able services feature, and so after may talks it seems that their service tier just became worse, and more expensive.
I am unable to find any word about this online, and N-able's website does not have any mention of this required upgrade either. Has anyone else been propositioned for this software, and, does anyone know if this is just an up-charging tactic by our MSP?
EDIT: Edited to clarify EDR is provided by SentinelOne through N-able
