This game's economy feels impossible.
Title. I've spent about 5 hours of the game and there's just too much to manage and not enough reward from jobs to meaningfully keep up with it all. Batteries, air filters, hull repairs, and upgrades when you're only making 2-3 thousand per job is just not reasonable. Especially when all of these parts drain durability near instantly. It feels like a death spiral that you literally cannot escape.
I think this could be balanced by reducing the cost of filters significantly, allowing batteries to be recharged at the cost of their health (which would make the higher tier batteries worth anything at all instead of a 5 thousand dollar sink because its all you can get) or allowing the player to take multiple trailers on single trailer jobs, which really help the amount of money you're generating and make the asks of the game reasonable. Apart of the game's appeal was supposed to be route planning, but you can't take multiple jobs at once, which completely betrays the concept.
I am writing this a little tilted, because I just got my save soft-locked. unless I want to reload an hour of progress. My last air filters kicked it 2 jumps away from a shop that would sell them and my suit is out of energy. There is not enough oxygen to make it, which is pretty frustrating.
I'll note that I am playing on the game's recommended difficulty.
