I have departed from my position and rôle at this esteemed enterprise

A few weeks ago, I needed to call off. I never call off unless it’s an emergency. Long story short, I was told I couldn’t unless I found coverage. So my message was: you screw me? I screw you. I quit.

Soon, I’m going to start a new position in the industry I have experience in at more than twice the pay as a shift supervisor. And half the stress. In an environment where they value me and my skills.

I was there every time someone called in. I was there to sort out misdelivered orders. I was there to let the SM and other SSVs take time off to be with family. I was there to end practices that could bring the store into jeopardy with Corporate. I was there to introduce standard practices that they dropped out of laziness. I was there to utilize the new recognition system and teach others to do it. I was there ro apprise the SM and DM of partners’ birthdays and other significant dates so they could connect with and acknowledge them. I went way above and beyond; I was more than loyal to the company and to the store, and in return there was no support of or loyalty to me.

We began talking about going the ASM and SM route and moving forward swiftly…and then suddenly no movement or discussion.

I learned a lot while I was there. But I’m glad I’m gone.
