How'd you get started in the trades?

I started going to work with my old man in the summers when I was 5 years old lol (now 31). Got paid $5 a day to hand and carry what tools I could. If I wasn't helping, then I was playing with rc trucks 🤣

By middle school i was home schooled and working 4 days a week with him doing remodel work or trimming new homes. Continued this till about 19 years old.

Went to tech school for cars. From there my teacher got me setup working in a machine shop learning to rebuild engines. Did that for a few years. Wasn't making the money I wanted so I started a landscaping business on the side.

Eventually I left machining for landscaping/lawncare cause the money was way better and I hated going to the same place every single day.

Been a landscaper now roughly 10 years running my own business. And since my father's passing, I've now incorporated home improvement and repairs into my landscaping business

All the stuff I learned from my old man wether carpentry or fixing cars, or what I learned machining has helped me run my landscaping business tremendously

Let's hear your stories!
