Jonsbo N2 unRaid build

Part list first: - Jonsbo N2 - i7-8700 w/ Noctua L12S - ASRock H370M-ITX/ac - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32gb DDR4 - Yeston GTX 1650 single slot - Corsair SF600 - Samsung 980 Pro 2tb (appdata) - Crucial MX500 4tb (cache) - 4x WD Red Plus 14tb (5th when restock) - Verbatim Metal Executive 32gb USB 2.0 - Noctua A12x25

Decided to finally upgrade my NUC + Synology setup to this server. I had originally purchased a Minisforum AR900i for this build, but it forced me to use a LSI HBA, so I ended up selling it and getting this i7-8700 and mobo for free from my office.

This worked out perfectly as this mobo has 6 SATA ports which I needed for the 5 spinners and SATA ssd cache. I had custom cables made, including a single molex for the dual molex adapter from moddiy and a single SATA power for the cache SSD.

I was able to route the SATA cables under the mobo using thin "0.3m" sata cables from Amazon. This helped with cable management immensely.

I'm likely going to be removing the Yeston 1650 as the fan sound is annoying. My nas sits a couple feet from me so the noise is unacceptable. The pitch is fine, but I don't like fan noise.

I will likely swap the 1650 for a pcie to m.2 adapter and throw a couple more drives in, but it seems a bit overkill for me already.

The nas without the GPU is much, much quieter. My Synology made a ton of noise from the drives so I was worried about the switch, but this setup is damn near silent.

The L12S does take a bit of pressure to screw down, but there's no noticeable gap. The top of the case is metal and essentially becomes a part of the L12S heatsink and becomes warm to the touch. I have the L12S set to exhaust. I may try to squeeze in some 60mm fans to help with temps a bit.

Really happy with unraid so far. I was tired of windows updates breaking things and wanted to try out dockers.

Mainly using this for Plex/emby, arr's, IPTV, ROM storage, and a couple VM's. I was able to install the USB stick using the USB 2.0 header on the mobo as well.

Sorry for long post lol. Happy to answer any questions.
