Did anyone not have a shower?

I really don’t want a shower. I am uncomfortable being the center of attention and I don’t have many friends to invite as I’m incredibly introverted. It would be mostly family and work colleagues, past and present. Parties exhaust me, even if I’m not planning them. We are in our late 30s and can afford all the baby stuff - no gifts are necessary or expected.

My husband is fine with this, but his mother and mine are both losing their minds. Did anyone just not have a shower? If so, how did you handle family? I’ve said I just don’t want a shower any number of times and they keep saying I’ll change my mind. I’m worried about a surprise shower which is far worse for me from an anxiety perspective.

EDIT: I mean BABY shower! I enjoy the other kind 😂
