Applied to my local police department

Im a 25 year old male just discharged from the military and wanting to join my local police force.

I was in for about 7 years did 2 tours and wanted to join my local police force I have a high school diploma never been arrested never been even pulled over just wanted to know if my bad credit history and experimental drug use would be a bad thing?

I was very irresponsible with my money in my younger days and it’s still affecting me to this day and I experimented with a few hard drugs and had some prior use of marijuana (which is recreationally legal in my state) just wanted to know if I even had a fighting chance in joining my local PD ? I really would love to join and be a difference maker in my community and be a part of something similar to the military and don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket but I really want your guys feedback! Thank you!
