The Weeknd x Carti tour isn't smart
Typically, the opener for a tour is selected to bring in additional ticket-buyers that (1) aren't already fans of the headliner, but (2) may become fans of the main artist if exposed to them. Like Ken Carson opening for RHCP. The goal is to draw additional Carti fans that aren't already huge Weeknd fans. But I don't expect the Carti fans to buy as many tickets since there isn't a clear picture of what he'll be performing. New MUSIC would be great, but we won't know until Rolling Loud if he has any, and by then the Weeknd fans will have bought all the tickets; but if it's just a mix of the 2024 singles and some past hits, people already went to those concerts last year. Jordan, I know you're lurking; understand that the solution is to drop an album before Rolling Loud, restore the hype and cement your legacy.
