Introducing Lavender

Everybody, meet Lavender.

We adopted her from the shelter just over a month ago. When we first brought her home, she was skinny, scared, and such a sweetheart. Her backstory is unknown, a stray brought in off the street, although they said she's around a year old and had delivered a litter of puppies rather recently. She was not really housebroken, knew zero commands, and was not at all leash-trained. She was, however, crate trained, and very well. Terrified of other dogs (and cats) but desperate for love from a human and just melted if you give her any sort of affection.

One short month later and she has beefed up substantially! She's become besties with the pittie next door and is growing braver on walks. She's (moslty) housebroken now and understands a few commands. My husband has been working with her on the leash, clicker training, and while she still pulls like crazy and walks all over the place, we're making progress.

Her personality has truly come through, too! She is silly and sweet and gentle with the kids. A big girl who has loads of love to give, enjoys a midnight play sesh, and has a complete disregard for personal space. She's a bull in a china shop with zero awareness of her large body and even less grace, leaping blindly off the couch and launching herself with such speed, she's unable to stop herself before crashing into whatever (or whoever) is in her path. The cats bully her and give her the zoomies. My kids adore her, my husband calls her his favorite child, and she has become an endless source of joy and laughter for this family.
