Do you think it's disrespectful to require on-site initial screening?
After 5 months of searching, I found a role. 99.9% of the interviews (initial screening anyway) was done over the phone or gmeet/zoom/msteam. One particular company, a well known but not top 3 company (basta May oil sa company name). Called me to invite me to an on-site interview process) the next day. I ask them yung agenda if this was a one day interview process and they said initial screening lang. I kinda expressed na pwede online nlang since screening but insistent sila. I said I wasn't available that day for onsite so they'll find a time but ghosted me. Wasn't a big loss. But I guess Ive been thinking about since then.
I started working at a time na all interviews were onsite so I knew the time suckiness of it, the gas and the fare which I knew naman was a necessary evil but nowadays when 99.9% are done otp or online for the initial screening stage to offer (last two years I've done the full process online and only ever did F2F on my first day including my current role). Also knowing that initial interview is just to confirm resume details and with a low percentage of success anyway (definitely had a 70-80% to move on to round 2). Do you find it disrespectful to still do F2F interviews? (Final round to me is still acceptable though)
