Where to leave a parrot on vacation?

I am the proud owner of a monk parakeet, but unfortunately I cannot bring him with me on my 3 week vacation.

My friend has offered to look after him, but this friend already has an African grey. Would this be bad for my little bud? If so what do you guys usually do?

This is my first time having to deal with such a problem and would greatly appreciate any help :)
