Assalamu'alaikum Pakistani brothers and Sisters ,from a friendly lankan brother here

Assalam guys I'm a Sri lankan male 21 and yeah obviously I'm Muslim and just wanted to ask yall how religious are the majority of people there, as the majority there is muslims and how are the minorities treated and feeling in general.

Coming from Sri lanka ,here tho the unity among the buddists, tamil hindus ,Christians and the muslims has got so so much better and I'm really damn happy about it and also proud of it.

Even the majority who are followers of Buddhism they always are respectful and tolerant specially the younger generation and i cant be more proud as a country what we have actually become here in Sri lanka, really proud to be a sri lankan man and I love my country so much. And since the economic crisis we had in 2022 we have come a long way and in a better position Alhamdulillah. Hope it just gets better inshallah lets see

So how is it basically there? And yall and us have been pretty friendly neighbours I would just like to say something I always thought about.

Like as part of the minority in the country you do feel a bit of fear because of that but when you feel your just treated and looked like everybody else in the country , that happiness you feel because of the unity of country from any religion (the majority of them) are ready to stand with you when something bad that can happen, just thinking about that honestly makes you so damn happy and proud of your nation as a whole. And I'm not saying there is no religious division or islamaphobes, but if one rises the other 98% of them stand up for you and defend you. That's just a major point that your country is headed in the right direction man.

So I just want to say to treat whoever the minorities inbyour countries the same man, with love,unity and see them as exactly as you, not through etnicity or religion becaue as a part of the minority here ,10% of the countries population which equates to 2 million muslims here in Sri lanka, we could see how it would be if there was major divide amongs us and god forbid non of those rise here🙏

The main thing is to show true respect toward the other communities be it a buddist monk, a hindu devotee or a pastor ,thats what we try and spread as much as we can here in the muslims community, to truely show respect from heart and not just for the act eventhough our beliefs are different.

Anyways man went in a small yapping session ig😂 and love yall and will surely want to visit your country in the future inshallah for a vacation maybe once I'm done with my studies and working inshallah. My mum would love to visit your country the most. See yall and Jazakallahhair for reading
