Oakland Police - Salaries look out of control

I was just curious so I googled and found this…. Dozens of officers making a half-million dollars per year? This seems insane.

I am in favor of public safety and I think we need more police/dispatchers. But isn’t OPD on a hiring freeze? How can we be paying so many cops these ungodly salaries? Maybe I’m interpreting the data incorrectly?

Can an investigative journalist dig into this and tell us what’s what?
