NFS Hot Pursuit Remaster (XBOX and PC Crossplay Issue)

So I've notice I haven't match with any xbox players online so far and when my friend got it on Xbox we can add each other through EA ID but when I invite him or he invites me the game states we're both on the wrong version of the game. Wonder if its a issue from Microsoft's end... You guys might know why?
