Nashville deserves better ice cream options. Help me help us
I'm an ice cream-preneur looking to start a location in Nashville next year. After reading through this thread from the sub in August: Best Ice Cream Shop?, it's apparent there is a need for home-grown options that aren't national chains like Jeni's (I've spoken to many folks around town that don't find Jeni's to be that good, it's just what is available) and don't require going downtown or driving long distances.
That being said, I'm looking for feedback as I draw up concepts for a new Tennessee born-and-bred ice cream shop:
- What do you most want in a new premium ice cream location? New flavors and ingredients from other states/countries? New accompaniments like bubble waffles or taiyaki? Something else?
- What part of town do you think is most in need of a new local spot? My early hypotheses are Wedgewood-Houston or Green Hills/Belle Meade
