Is it disrespectful to call my son Malachi (I’m not Jewish)

I have loved the name Malachi ever since I read it once in a book. Nickname Kai I think is super cute! However I’m not Jewish and I know Malachi is a very cultural name and I really don’t want to be disrespectful. Thoughts?
