Uncommons/Commons Market Followup (#1)
Here’s the first in a potentially consistent round of updates for my uncommon/common penny stocks that I keep track of.
Bulk to Bucks:
$1 [[Anoint with Affliction]] - Play in either standard or pioneer is driving this. People finally are starting to see how strong some of the ONE uncommons/commons are.
$1 [[Starscape Cleric]] - Infinite combo with a mythic in Foundations is driving this apart from this being a good commander card overall.
$1 [[Elspeth’s Smite]] - Standard/Pioneer is driving this one, solid removal.
$2 & $1 [[Hydroelectric Specimen]] & [[Pinnacle Monk]] - MH3 MDFC’s proving they’re incredibly versatile and in demand once again. Keep an eye out on the rest.
$7 [[Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar]] - A very useful commander card that hasn’t seen a reprint, this keeps rising and hasn’t slowed down.
Rising:
$0.80 [[Arid Archway]] - Lo and behold this thing has started to rise. Figures as this is a strictly better version of a $3 uncommon. I’m certain this is going to go further up.
$0.80 [[Bridgeworks Battle]] - MH3 MDFC’s are hot right now, this one is creeping up with the others. These are harder to reprint so may hold value.
$0.80 [[Pawpatch Formation]] - A less destruction and more ramp-y Pick Your Poison, card draw is always a plus. This is actively rising and probably will hit the $1 mark.
$0.70 [[Tail Swipe]] - Nothing too crazy, just a playable card across formats that seems to be rising somewhat unexpectedly.
$0.90 [[Spyglass Siren]] - This sees play across almost every format due to its token creation, similar to Thraben Inspector and Voldaren Epicure. Not extremely confident the price will stick but keep watch.
Falling:
$0.30 [[Tolarian Terror]] - Foundations reprint killed this, almost certainly going to be bulk forever now :(
Random Specs:
$0.50 [[Requisition Raid]] - Spree cards are incredibly versatile and this one is probably the best example. A permanent anthem on ANY player or artifact/enchantment removal, all for a very low mana cost.
$0.10 [[Korlessa, Scale Singer]] - In anticipation of the new Tarkir set, I believe this could rise. This is a slightly harder card to reprint with it being non magic IP but who knows. A very underlooked and solid card for dragons in non-traditional dragon colors.
