Really really really really extremely stupid question

My bishop befriended and was trying to get this one guy to come to our church, I went on a couple dates with said guy. But we haven’t talked much since our last date. And I’m afraid I’ve been ghosted in a polite way and would rather not make a fool of myself by asking if he wants to hangout again. I am wanting to go to a ysa ward but I would like to see if he is still interested before I try and find someone else. I know the bishop and this guy discussed me several times, because he told me that on our date. Would it be appropriate to ask if he knows anything from my guys side? If there was/is any reasoning for us not hanging out anymore before I were to say anything to him?
