I’m new to hero shooters, any general tips?

I’ve gotten a decent understanding of the 3-4 characters I like, and feel like I play them halfway well. Just looking for some general hero shooter tips relevant to this game that I may be missing. I usually play vanguard or support (venom, Thor, CnD, or Loki)
