Sabertooth was brutal but finally beat him and enjoying my first campaign!
Began my first expansion yesterday (Mutant Genesis) and jumped into the campaign. Was not prepared for Sabertooth! He smacked me hard twice and I was super discouraged.
Them I realised I'd been playing Robert Kelly under the same player and forgetting that he moves with the player token. Also did some research on tactics by reading through posts on Sabertooth here (thanks to everyone for the tips!).
Just finished my first victory by building my board slowly and making sure the player defending Kelly is always in AE. I played with Colossus (justice) and Gambit (aggression) and neither dropped a hit point and Kelly ended up with only 1 damage.
In my final turn I had the option to humiliate Sabertooth by defeating him with Metro PD (would've been hilarious) or Colossus' Made of Rage. Opted for the latter and smashed him into oblivion...very satisfying!
As my first go at a campaign I'm really enjoying it. I know there's hardly any storyline but it's enough for it to be kinda cool and exciting. I also like the continuity of having optional upgrades, campaign pool etc. after playing a lot of individual matches against villains, this feels good. Looking forward to taking on Project Wide-awake!
