Is brother ship no good?

I love superstar saga, when I was a kid, and partners in time came out and I love that as well. And I was looking forward to brothership coming out but I've heard all this hate. Is it really such an easy game? I've been waiting for another Mario and Luigi game or another donkey Kong game and I just feel like this is an easy skip.
