Making friends?

Does anyone have experience as an insanely shy person making friends here as an adult lmao? I'm a 25 y/o woman willing to put herself out there to make friends, but I guess I just want to hear some success stories first to hype myself up 😭 I moved here after college to be closer to family, and I don't really know anyone here other than my boyfriend.
