Times: Weekly Games, 2 hour sessions - max 4 players, 3-4 is just ideal

-We'll start with a session 0 just to get everyone on the same page, go over any

themes/concerns/etc.

-I'm not locked into a specific weekday, we can figure that out before you decide

to join, i'm looking for some players that have a weekday we can pick to be available

i'd like to play weekly and only for 2 hours. Because life is busy like that :O

-This can be a mid length Journey or a longer journey, depending on

how we do and we could even go longer if we're really feeling froggy. Please take a peek at

the "Setting" section to get a better idea.

Equipment/what you need/style of play

-You need Discord for voice

-We'll play on foundry, no software needed to download, i'll supply a link you can join when we play

-no cameras needed

-a willingness to imagine a world

Setting:

A land encircled by towering mountains, dense forests alive with whispered secrets, where ancient trees stand over hidden glades and mystical creatures roam amidst the dappled sunlight. Here, adventurers may stumble upon forgotten ruins, their stone walls echoing with the echoes of a bygone era, or face off against fierce beasts and cunning predators lurking in the shadows.

But the valley is not all untamed wilderness. Amidst the verdant fields and tranquil rivers, bustling towns and villages thrive, each with its own tales to tell and mysteries to unravel. From the opulent halls of noble lords to the humble cottages of simple folk, every corner of Kelgen is filled with stories waiting to be discovered.

Yet, be warned, for danger lurks in the most unexpected places. Treacherous swamps conceal deadly traps and insidious foes, while dark powers scheme in the shadows.Pack your bag, gather your equipment, and sharpen your blade.

Is this Theater of the mind?

-Exploration will be heavy leaning on theater of the mind, but I like to add wallpapers and screenshots to help create a theme along with music.

-Combat is not fully theater of the mind, we'll use a map for movement and tactics.

-Exploration of dungeons: Dungeons will be theater of the mind, oh yes.

-A positive and welcoming attitude! We're all here to hang out, play and have fun!!

Be a supportive party member for your team!

**I think theater of the mind is more valuable than ever and I used to want maps

and a movable space for my token at every part of the game, but I've come to realize

that theater of the mind helps stir the imagination and wonder of the journey. Heavy use of maps/battlemaps can sometimes take away from this, I feel at least. Though for many tables it works out great to do that.

What is Shadowdark? ( A grittier, more dangerous, and rules light 5e)

-Its more dangerous, characters are more likely to die if not

careful. But then again sometimes big risks = big reward, and this is the struggle of every adventurer.

-Equipment matters, xp is gained through loot. Player characters are seen as sellswords, vagabonds, or treasure hunters.

-player characters at lvl 1 especially, are not heroes that can accomplish amazing feats like slaying

a dragon, a lvl 1 character in shadowdark would even see a typical bandit as a threat.

-Many aspects of Shadowdark relish in randomization tables..let the dice fall and reap the benefits or suffer the consequences.

Things that are commonly rolled are -> ability checks(of course), your actual ability scores, loot, when encounters occur, how many monsters may show up, if a monster is friendly or hostile, maybe something in between. Embrace the random nature that is sprinkled in and let the glorious dice help shape your fate. Even a weaker perceived character can achieve greatness.
