Is criminal records regarded as public information in Canada similar to USA or not?

In America all the criminal records and sentences one has ever received is considered public information (AFAIK). So it is not considered a crime if you write about a criminal’s record in your blog posts. But what about Canada? If a blogger writes about a criminal’s official history in their blog, will it be ok or is it not allowed? The sentences received are from Iranian civil and criminal (not political) courts and the whole procedure of the court is documented and one can easily see the verdicts are fair and square. (I say this because sometimes people think in Iran all courts are corrupt. But that is absolutely not true for non-political courts. It’s only political courts who behave cruel and unlawful).
