Html Beginner, Questions Before Starting

I must sincerely apologise in advance for my lack of knowledge etc. in asking these questions. I am trying to find out a few pieces of information before I proceed with teaching myself anything to do with Html.

A bit of background. I have been using a website to revise that has a really helpful question aid with drop down selections referring to a picture. Unfortunately it is not comprehensive, if it was it would be fantastic for my revision purposes.

I contacted the owner of the website who happily sent me the code for the quiz section for me to expand on and use myself.

I have never coded anything in my life...

So I have downloaded a html coding programme and sourced a pile of help videos. However before I begin I had a question I wanted to check first...

• the quiz uses (simple) pictures that are hosted on separate websites created for this purpose it seems. So if I open the html file in a browser whilst connected to the Internet it works, but if I open it whilst disconnected then the pictures don't load, though all of the text etc. does. Since I would be remaking this for my own use is it possible to make this so it works, along with pictures, offline?

I would just like to check this is possible before I plough on trying to learn how to do it...
