Why have heroines never been as big of crowd-pullers / box-office deciders as heroes?

Genuinely curious to get opinions on why there has never been a heroine with the same kind of pull and fan following that translates into box office numbers like Vijay, Rajini, Kamal, Ajith, Surya, Vikram, Vijayakanth, Sathyaraj, SK, Dhanush, Simbu, Vishal etc.

Silk Smitha was probably the only one but that was mostly men wanting to simp over a half clad girl on screen. Anushka is definitely one in Telugu industry.

Nayantara, Kushboo, Trisha and Keerthy suresh are honorary mentions. I think they were able to do it for a short while but don’t have the same fan craze as men.
