do unis actually care about igcses?
i've seen a lot of people say that getting mid grades in igcses don't actually matter for good unis as long as you get high grades in A levels. i've also seen people say that your life is ruined if you don't get all above A's in igcses.
what is the actual truth?
i'm in 10th grade, currently writing f/m 25, and i won't say i've given up, solely because i don't want to accept it. until starting igcse i used to be straight A's, school topper, top of my class, teachers' favourite. i started to not care about my grades and down they went. my average in mocks is a C/D. sometimes i study (not that hard) for a topical test and i get great marks, so i know i can if i try, but i'm unable to try anymore because my boards are literally going on rn and i can't cover 2 years' worth of concepts in a day, and i cry everyday for not using the 2 years. i know for a fact that i need genuine help for my mental health and im planning to get it before starting AS level. and then i can study and get actual good grades.
please tell me good A level grades are enough for top universities outside of india (not ivies - i mean uc, sdsu, etc.)
i predict that i'll get like 1 A*, 1 A, 3 B's and a D for my igcses.
