Just adopted this sweetheart

This lovely girl is Behchoko, or Choko for short. Just picked her up on Wednesday evening. We originally applied for a different dog in early December but he already had a pending adoption which was accepted. So we decided we would wait and keep looking. A couple weeks ago, the agency texted us with a picture of this girl and asked if we were interested.

She was supposed to fly from Kuwait into Toronto on January 9th, but ended up being rescheduled to fly into Montreal instead (about 7 hours away). They were surprised when we said we'd still pick her up, but we'd already fallen completely in love with her.

She's been settling in fairly well and is an absolute sweetheart. She's been so gentle with every person and creature she's met and loves watching the guinea pigs (obviously never unsupervised). She's super smart and has picked up a few basic commands already. Unfortunately we did learn that she's not 100% house trained, but she is excellent about her crate so we've been diligent about walking her at least every couple hours (we work from home). We're confident she'll pick it up quickly because she really wants to be the best girl.

Also figured out that she cannot be left alone with fluffy beds for a minute, especially when the dog bed company thinks stuffing them with funfetti is a great idea.
