Missing exhaust cover mounts?
I got given a 1984 VT500C, it needs a fair bit of maintenance work but it is in running condition. The only thing that's got me pretty stumped are these exhaust covers.
The right cover (1st pic) will fit on, and I can see that the two holes on the bottom seem to fit over a couple little bolts (looks like they've been cut off) and a sorta finger slots into a ring on the exhaust at the front. Unfortunately, as you can see in my 2nd and 3rd pictures, it looks like the previous owners may have just cut off or the bottom two bolts. In addition, there's just nowhere for the top holes to line up on.
There's also a smaller cover on the left (4th-6th pctures), I managed to mount it fine via two bolts on the bottom, but it looks like again there's just nowhere to mount the top hole.
Does anyone know how these are supposed to go on, and would you be willing to share any pictures or anything to help me figure it out? Am I missing pieces, or has the power chamber just been a bit damaged making it impossible to mount properly?
