Anywhere to get an independent 3rd party to assess repairs and contractor quotes?

i dont trust contractors never have and after our first experience with one i have even less trust

are there any services where i can get an independent 3rd party to assess part of my home i am looking to repair or improve and then recommend the work to be done?

eg i have a vent with some water damage around it, unsure if its from the roof or from humidity in the vent, i dont want to call a water damage company theyll probably try to sell me on a whole new roof and mold removal and whatever else BS

id want someone to come in and say oh yea just replace the ceiling here and make sure you do this to the gutters lets get some quotes it shouldnt cost more than $x
